Sunrise Technologies LLC is an engineering consultancy focused on solar and energy storage system performance, design optimization, and quality assurance. Founded in 2018, Sunrise Technologies has consulted on over 26 GW of solar projects across the United States and internationally.
Owen Westbrook
Founder & President
Owen Westbrook has over thirteen years of experience in large-scale solar and energy storage. Previously, Owen was the Vice President, Technology at juwi, Inc., a developer and engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firm for utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. At juwi, he managed development-stage engineering for a multi-GW project development pipeline, co-led the procurement of over $100m of solar equipment, oversaw plant performance for a fleet of over 300 MW of operating projects, and contributed to the construction of over 375 MW of solar power plants. Owen currently co-teaches a course for the University of Colorado’s Masters of the Environment program covering renewable energy project development, and he has also presented numerous papers on PV system performance and modeling at industry conferences. He holds a B.A. in astrophysics from Williams College, an S.M. in earth and planetary science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in civil and environmental engineering from Stanford University.
Josh Crane
Performance Engineering
Josh Crane has five years of experience in renewable energy and software engineering. Josh supports a wide range of Sunrise Technologies' work, including energy production modeling and development of the PRISM software. Previously he worked as a Production Engineer at AlsoEnergy, specializing in SCADA systems and process automation. Josh holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
